High Tensile Hexagon Bolts

Bolts series are divided into 2 types. One is the metric series and the other is the inches series.

Bolts features are :
  • Din 931/933 (Grade 8.8/10.9 strength).
  • BS 1768 (Grade 5/Grade 8 strength).
In the metric series, the sizes of the diameter can range from 4mm to 56mm and the length can range from 8mm to 400mm. Meanwhile, in the inches series, the sizes of the diameter can range from 1/4" to 2" and the length can range from 1" to 20".

The tensile strength of the grade 8.8 is 800MPa (N/square mm) and the tensile strength of the grade 10.9 is 1000MPa (N/square mm).

Hence, a high tensile hexagon bolt of diameter 8mm, and length 20mm is usually described as M8 x 1.25 x 20 mm HT Hex Bolt. M8 represent the bolt diameter of 8mm. 1.25 represent the thread pitch of 1.25mm.

Depending on the preferences of the coding system of an individual organization, high tensile hexagon bolt of this mentioned size may be coded as B108-020A-EDP. B represent Bolt. 1 represent the bolt material, for example, mild steel or it could be 2 which may represent stainless steel or it could be 3 which may represent nylon and so forth. 08 represent the diameter of the bolt of 8mm. If the bolt is of diameter 12mm, then 08 shall be replaced by 12. 020 represent the length of the body of the bolt of 20mm excluding the length of the head thickness. After the numeric 020, A represent the thread pitch of 1.25mm. And if, the bolt is added with a coating process of electro-deposit plating, the alphabet, EDP is indicated.
